Mr. TJ Snyder, Assistant Principal, Academics

I began my career at Desert Vista High School in 1995–96 as a baseball coach, and in 1996 I joined the Special Education Department as a teacher. In 2001, I transitioned to the Guidance Department, serving as the Class of 2005 Counselor, Testing Coordinator, and NCAA Clearinghouse Coordinator. From 1996 to 2006, I also coached freshman baseball, an experience that deepened my connection with our student-athletes.

In 2006, I was honored to be selected as the Assistant Principal of Activities, followed by my role as Assistant Principal of Athletics in 2008. I returned to Activities in 2017, and in 2022 I was proud to take on my current role as Assistant Principal of Academics. Each of these positions has allowed me to serve our students, staff, and families in unique and rewarding ways.

On a personal note, I am blessed with two wonderful children. My son, Derick, graduated from Desert Vista in 2010 and from Arizona State University in 2015. My daughter, Kaitlyn, graduated from Desert Vista in 2021 and is a 2025 graduate from Arizona State University.
